Scholarship Application

Fayetteville State University District of Columbia National Alumni Association

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Be a current FSU student, transfer student or graduating high school senior from the Washington, DC Metropolitan area attending or planning to attend FSU on a full-time basis. Metropolitan area includes Alexandria, VA; Arlington, VA; Charles County, MD; Fairfax, VA; Montgomery County, MD; Prince George County, MD; Prince William County, VA; and Washington, DC.
  • New incoming freshman applicants must submit a current high school transcript. Transfer and current student applicants must submit a current college transcript.
  • New incoming freshman and new transfer students must have two (2) character references from any combination of school, community, civic, and/or religious leaders.
  • A 250-500 word essay on a current national topic of interest and how it might impact you as a FSU student.
  • A completed application with a respectful headshot. The headshot will be used for the marketing of the FSU DC chapter scholarship.

 

Requirements for individual scholarships:

  • Dorine Adams, Jimmy McLean, or Charles Worthy Scholarships

Applicants must attend FSU and have a 2.5 or above cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale and declare a major in Education, Business, or Accounting, or a related field of study.

  • FSU DC Alumni Chapter Founders’ Scholar Award Scholarship

Applicants must attend FSU and have a 3.8 and higher cumulative grade point (GPA) on a 4.0 scale.

  • FSU DC Alumni Chapter Presidential Scholars Award Scholarship

Applicant must attend FSU and have a 3.5 – 3.799 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale.

 

Note: The scholarship committee will determine the individual scholarship awarded.
